Cracked Sewer Pipe | Melbourne

Drain Looked Clear — Camera Found the Real Problem
Customer had been dealing with a sewer line that kept building up blockage on and off. By the time we arrived, it had already cleared — but a drain that clears itself and blocks again later usually has a reason. We ran the camera through to find out, and it didn’t take long to find it.
The Problem
- Sewer line reported as repeatedly building up blockage
- No visible issue on the surface by the time we arrived
- Recurring problems with no obvious cause needed a proper look inside the line
What We Found
- Ran a full CCTV camera inspection through the sewer line
- As the camera passed the toilet connection, found the pipe already cracked
- A cracked pipe at this point explains the recurring blockage — debris and waste catching on the damaged section over time
- This needs a proper fix, not a temporary clear
Why a Cracked Pipe Causes Recurring Blockages
A crack in the line doesn’t always stop water flow completely — which is exactly why it clears itself sometimes and looks fine. But the rough edge catches debris, paper, and waste every time, building up again and again. Without fixing the actual crack, the same blockage just keeps coming back on its own schedule.
What’s Next
We’ll be working out the best way in to get this fixed properly — full update to come once the repair’s sorted.
Sewer Line Keeps Backing Up Then Clearing?
Don’t wait for it to happen again. Get a camera through the line and find out what’s actually going on.
